When you love your own company
you never will feel alone

Do you hate being on your own?

Loneliness is on the increase, partly due to the pandemic and also fueled by the breakdown in communities. Feeling lonely causes mental health issues and weakens immune systems causing ill health.

As an introvert/empath I enjoy time alone. In fact, I need it and crave it. I need to have space to decompress, think, and release negative energy. Yet, on the flip side, I don’t like long periods of isolation.

When we lived in the Swiss Alps, in a perfect ‘chocolat box’ chalet, I loved the summer and was quite happy taking walks and exploring the mountains, alpine meadows and sitting by the river that flowed through the woods. It was my ‘paradise’ in summer. However, as the long winter progressed, I often ended up feeling trapped. The snow and ice created barriers meaning that I wouldn’t go out.

My husband travelled to work in Zurich for 2-3 days per week, leaving at 5am and returning at 9pm. I spent those long days without speaking to anyone. I detested the loneliness and struggled being so much on my own. Of course, living in such a small close-knit village who spoke a dialect I couldn’t understand, made it so much harder as we were seen as ‘outsiders’, and would always be so.

Over the course of six years living there, I began to loathe it and regretted our decision to move from Zurich, where I had friends, a good job and great friends.

Loneliness is like a disease which consumes you from the inside.

When we returned to the UK, I thought it would be easy to settle in. I would no longer feel lonely – no language barrier and lots of groups to join and activities to try.

However, we arrived back just as the COVID pandemic struck, which forced us into lockdowns and isolation. It was challenging, and I struggled. Everything I had been seeking was taken away. Boy, it felt like a personal kick in the teeth from the Universe. I was angry, frustrated and bitter, which spiralled me down into depression. I know that many other people struggled too with the feeling of being cut off from loved-ones, while others enjoyed having time at home doing things they normally never had time for.

Only working through my own issues and getting the right support, I managed to survive the darkness. I found away back to myself and was reminded how important it is to LOVE YOURSELF. Once, I found my way back to SELF-LOVE, it was a game changer.

Now, I am happy to enjoy quality time on my own, finding ways to do things I enjoy alone and relish the time I spend with friends and family on my own terms.

Forgiveness

Do you struggle to FORGIVE?

I know from my own healing journey and from working with my clients, that the FORGIVENESS part of the healing process can be extremely challenging.

Many of us harbour anger/fear/resentment towards others for a multitude of reasons: perhaps something terrible happened in your childhood and you blame your parents; maybe you were wrongly accused of something; or you experienced an accident: or was the victim of a crime. And YOU carry this fear/anger/resentment around with you (heavy emotional baggage), while it slowly eats away at your happiness, self-esteem and hope to create a life you can enjoy.

Finding the strength to FORGIVE is deeply healing and allows you to release that heavy burden – that’s right, the one you are choosing to weigh yourself down with and allowing it to suck the life force energy out of you.

Forgiveness is the way to reclaiming your right to a happy life.

Isn’t it time you found the strength to forgive someone and free yourself to move on?

Allowing yourself to remain a victim
is to choose to continue torturing yourself
long after the event has past

)I know it might sound odd, but as part of the FORGIVENESS process you will need to take the step to FORGIVE YOURSELF.

Why on earth would I need to do that? I hear you ask…

Well, when you allow a past event to hold you in fear/anger/resentment, you are choosing to hold onto it (which is a normal response). However, it is up to you to let it go and as part of the process you need to forgive yourself for the part you have played in holding on to being a victim.  Believe me, I struggled to get my head around this concept… but it is a key step towards FREEDOM.

Fortunately, there are TWO simple tools you can use to do forgiveness work:

1) Ho’oponopono – Hawaiian Forgiveness Prayer (see below)

2) Forgiveness Letter

Write out a letter sharing your thoughts/feelings – an open and honest expression of all the anger/fear/guilt/shame/frustration/resentment you may be bottling up then give your whole hearted FORGIVENESS.  You don’t need to send the letter, you may choose to destroy it – it is about expressing your feelings and letting them go and finding forgiveness in your heart to free yourself from the situation’s hold over you.

Do you find it hard to say NO?

Saying NO is very hard for many people and especially women who have been conditioned from childhood to care for others and put their own needs aside. 

I know this was me – I learned to be a people pleaser. I like the praise and acknowledgement of being a ‘GOOD GIRL’, which I know understand was my own lack of self-worth. I was a MARTYR serving the will of others and allowing my own desires to be pushed away.

This works for a while, but over time I came to resent the role I have fashioned for myself. I would say ‘YES’ – out of habit – and then get angry and frustrated with myself. And to be honest, people would take advantage of my kind and generous nature, which led me to feel resentful and guilty.

Saying ‘NO’ is taking back control and implementing self-love

As an EMPATH and HEALER, it is too easy to fall into this pattern of putting everyone else first. Mothers are also find themselves doing the same thing – until it reaches a point they no longer recognise themselves. They have lost their way – they no longer know what they want/like/desire.

Learning to say ‘NO’ is an important step of the healing journey and following your SOUL PURPOSE. 

The power of NO allows you to channel your energy into doing things you enjoy and boost your energetic systems. Your SOUL wants you to do things that make you happy and bring you joy – as this is fuel for your SOUL ENERGY.

Learn to strengthen your AURIC FIELD to keep your AURA and energy protected.  Choose who you allow in and by reconnecting with your SOUL’S WISDOM, you will intuitively know what is right for you and what is not.

This fire we call ‘loving’ is too strong for human minds.

What is LOVE?

To me, when I think of LOVE, I feel it is all encompassing – it is the feeling of being safely held in an embrace by someone who loves me unconditionally.

It feels like HOME.

Love is a word that is so often misused in our society. It is used by influencers on TikTok as they promote the latest lipstick or pair of shoes. However, LOVE is so much more, it is powerful and holds a high vibrational energy 500Hz) when you truly feel it.

It is fuel for our Heartfield, a crucial part of our body’s energy systems. When we feel love, it fills and expands our heartfield, making us feel sure about who we are and our purpose. It gives us stability which means when we face challenges we experience less emotional overload. We have faith that everything will work out.

LOVE is all you need.

When people are struggling and feeling life is against them, it is often that love is missing in their lives. As human beings, and certainly as energetic beings, we need love. We come from love and will return to love, and need love to complete us.

Many seek love from others and rush into relationships believing they are in love. However, the relationship or marriage doesn’t last as it was not founded on the true essence of love. Instead, we need to learn to love ourselves and by doing so we gain clarity on who we are and what we need to bring us happiness. Making time and space to do this is a vital first step in the healing process and the more we know ourselves, we are more empowered to make better choices.

SELF-LOVE is the first step to living authentically with love at your core.

Fear is the absence of LOVE.
